Lacey, Vanessa and I took a quick trip to the Element YMCA Skate Camp after Maloof.

Vanessa backside 5-0 in Element Land.

This place is amazing!

The girls bodies were beaten and sore from skating the contest.  Lacey's board had given her a shark bite on the back of
her heel which was still cut open and made it painful to skate or even wear shoes, but the new mini ramp made it hard
for her to resist a few runs.

Vanessa enjoying the view during our hike around the lake.

Lacey and her new snail friend.

This guy was pretty hyped he got Vanessa's signature on his chest.

After the prelims Leticia Bufoni, Alexis Sablone, Amy Caron and Marisa Dal Santo moved on to Sunday's finals where they
competed against Lacey Baker, Rachel Reinhard, Vanessa Torres and Elissa Steamer who were pre-qualified from last
years event.

Amy Caron back tail on the Brooklyn Banks inspired obstacle.

Alexis Sablone!

Rachel Reinhard hurt her knee in yesterdays practice, but tried to skate though the pain in today's final which didn't work
out too well.  After the weekend was said and done both Rachel and Lauren Perkins had torn ACL's that will require
surgery.  Get well soon!

Elissa Steamer and Jen O'Brien.

Megan Clark, Leticia Bufoni, Ana Paula Negrao and Lacey Baker having fun back stage while waiting for results.

Leticia, Lacey and Elissa on the podium.

Congratulations Leticia!  Watch video highlights here!

9 girls competed today for the top 4 spots which advance to the finals where they will compete against the top 4 girls from
last year.  A big surprise was a last minute invite to Alexis Sablone who has been under the radar for the last 4-5 years
while she completed college.  For those of you unfamiliar with Alexis
watch this and you will understand why the exception
was made.

Amy Caron and Lorena Lima.

The course.

Vanessa Torres and Sophie Poppe.  Vanessa is pre-qualified from last year and moves straight to the finals tomorrow.

Lauren Perkins tore her ACL and meniscus warming up before the prelims, but still came out to support the rest of the girls.

Maloof Money Cup Ladies Practice & Prelims

We started the day off at the Costa Mesa park where the girls sessioned the hip to get warmed up.

Anne-Sophie fakie flip.

Afterwards we went street skating with Leticia's Brazilian friends.  Monica frontboard.

Anne-Sophie and Felipe had Subway sandwiches that weren't agreeing with their stomachs.

Everyone had fun skating around and Leticia got a few tricks on video...and Ana Paula filmed her first line since 1984!  Ha!

Blog Cam 7/5/09

After the crazy start to the day we went back to Ana Paula's house where Leticia treated us to açaí smoothies.

Then we ended the day with a fun session at the Volcom park with Leticia's Brazilian friends.

Leticia Bufoni - Volcom Session

Leticia, Anna Paula, Anne-Sophie and I started our day off at the LA Skate Plaza.

After warming up we decided to check out a spot down the street.

I parked on the side of the road and we started walking towards the spot.  Ana Paula and I were talking and looking towards
the left when what looked to be a homeless lady carrying a bunch of bags passed on our right.  Anne-Sophie heard and saw
the lady spit on Ana Paula while walking by.  By the time the rest of us realized what happened she was a few hundred
feet away and near my car.  We turned around asked "Why did you do that?" which set her off.  She dropped her bags,
raised her fists and called us over to fight.  Then she picked up a patio paving stone and started walking towards us
screaming and yelling.  We started walking in the other direction just trying to get as far away from her as possible when she
turned around and threw the stone at my car.  Her first throw missed and went into on coming traffic.  As the cars slammed
on their breaks she ran into the middle of the road to retrieve the stone and threw it at my car a few more times cracking my
windshield and denting my door frame.  All for no reason...she was insane!

A few of the cars stopped and as a man started to walk over to her she picked up her bags and rushed away.  Leticia and
Anne-Sophie were having a hard time just standing by and watching this happen, but I was doing my best to keep them
as far away from her as possible.  When she turned the corner they took off skating after her to watch where she was going
while we called the police.  A few seconds later a cop car drove by and a witness flagged them down.  The girls pointed her
out and she was in hand cuffs before Ana Paula and I walk there.  All of the sudden the completely insane woman was
talking politely to the officer insisting that it wasn't her and that she had never thrown anything.  Luckily the blog cam
footage was just enough to show that she had.

A few people had called in so 6 cop cars showed up.  They separated us and while a female officer searched the suspect
a few of the others talked to us and posed for a few photos.

Leticia has a few new fans.

In the end the crazy lady was arrested and taken to jail.  What a crazy start of the day!

Blog Cam Footage.  Sorry for the shakiness...I couldn't believe what was going on!

Anne-Sophie Julien from the Montreal Skirtboarders crew is spending another summer in California.  We started the day at
one of her favorite spots, but we got kicked out before she even got a chance to warm up.

It was pretty hot out so we kept it mellow and checked out a few spots.

We'll be back!

Anne-Sophie and I stopped by the Encinitas YMCA on our way to the Villa Villa Cola "Dear & Yonder" premiere to meet up
with Cara-Beth.

She squeezed in a couple more runs before rushing home to get ready for the premiere.

Amy and Olivia were already at her house testing out the new mini ramp.

Olivia backside 5-0.

Cara-Beth and her new kittens.  So cute!

Filmmakers Tiffany and Andria with Amy before the 1st showing.

Let the show begin.

Both showings were packed and the reviews were great!

We started Saturday morning with another hike up the many stairs to Stalin Square.

After filming a few things we walked around and checked out the history of the place.

Visited a few Marionette shops where Lacey found her new passion.

Purchased the "evilest" one she could find and later got a witch to keep him company.

The rest of the trip was a blur. We finally figured out the metro system after a week of walking everywhere with camera gear,
climbing huge mountains of stairs and skating all day.  Why didn't we take these earlier?

We celebrated Donna's birthday and spent our final day being tourist at the castle.

Lacey enjoying some music.

These guys must get so sick of this.

Just in case you were skateboarding at the castle.

Time for our day long journey home.

Prague Blog 2009

Friday morning we woke up to this.

So we headed to the Mystic Skatepark to avoid the rain.

Georgina Winter 50-50.

New BFF's Lacey and Georgi.

Jenna and Georgi had to get back to London for the UK Girls Skate Jam the next day. We were sad to see them go. Thanks
