I think that it is important to understand that injuries will happen regardless of whether you have already incurred one or not. From past experience, care needs to be taken when getting back on that board after an injury, but at the same time too much care can stop you from healing (through strengthening and exercising the damaged area by repetitive, normative moments – such as doing a flip trick or what-not). It's okay to feel uncomfortable at first, but injuries happen... and be grateful that you can still ride!

Then I moved, and realised that my home city actually has some of the best skate spots in Australia.
So if I could skate anywhere today, it would be back in Fremantle, at the Woolstores ledges!
